After living in Southern California for 27 years, we needed help to buy a home in Gainesville, Georgia. I can't tell you how fortunate we were to have Amy as our realtor. Aside from the care and personal connections she forms with her clients, she REALLY knows what she is doing. She moved heaven and earth to secure us our now forever home. Here's what happened: We told her our special needs - my husband and I PLUS our two elderly moms, one of whom is disabled and can't climb stairs. She did virtual walk-throughs for us, and she really found us a gem. The problem was it was a sellers' market, and we were using a VA loan. Even though the market was moving fast and many sellers did not want any special loans like that, she worked on the seller and won them over. The next hurdle we hit - an appraiser who did not assess the house properly, calling a giant living space (with a window and closet) a "storage room"!!! Our appraisal did not come in high enough. Our loan officer said it is unheard of for someone to contest an appraisal and actually have it re-assessed. She hadn't seen it ever happen. That didn't stop Amy. She put together this beautiful package, showing the spaces in the house, the comps, and all the things about it that were unique and not considered in the appraisal. The house was re-appraised at the price we needed. WE WOULD HAVE LOST THIS BEAUTIFUL HOME if it hadn't been for her taking the extra time to do the work to get it for us.
